Added in Forever launch

The Hall of Thanes is a new 5-player dungeon added in World of Warcraft: Forever, set in the royal dwarven burial chambers beneath Ironforge. It is one of nine new dungeons announced for Forever and, at levels 13–18, one of the two lowest-level new dungeons, alongside Ruins of Lordaeron.

This page is constantly being updated with data available from the beta and is subject to change.

Overview

  • Level range: 13–18
  • Group size: 5 players
  • Location: Beneath Ironforge
  • Faction: Alliance-oriented, but Horde players can also enter. Alliance players can reach the dungeon easily, while Horde players have to find a way in.
  • Announced: BlizzCon, 12 September 2026
  • Release: 4 November 2026, alongside World of Warcraft: Forever

Story

The Hall of Thanes is the sacred burial place of the dwarves, deep within the heart of Ironforge. Rumors of a disturbance in the tombs are spreading through the city's corridors, and Dark Iron dwarves appear to have infiltrated the ancient site. Alongside the intruders, ghosts and other undead have been seen haunting the halls. Adventurers are called on to investigate and put a stop to whatever has awakened within the tombs.

Bosses

The Hall of Thanes has four bosses:

  1. Faldrim Anvilmar
  2. Magmatus
  3. Plunder
  4. Durgen Dirgehammer

Boss abilities, encounter mechanics and loot have not yet been published. This section will be expanded as information becomes available.

Notes

  • Alliance-leaning content, though Horde players can also enter. Ruins of Lordaeron (levels 15–20) is the Horde-oriented counterpart.
  • The dungeon is intended as an early-level alternative to The Deadmines for Alliance players.
  • The Forever beta runs 17 September – 21 October 2026, capped at level 30.
